Chemcel Golf Course is a nine-hole private layout behind the Celanese chemical plant about three miles south of Bishop in Kleberg County, opened in 1955. At over 3,500 yards it is unusually long for a nine, with a creek in play on three holes. The Chemcel Club operates it for Celanese employees, retirees and their guests alongside park and shooting facilities.
