Founded in 1926 under club president D.T. McKeithan Jr. as a nine-hole course, it grew into an 18-hole layout, reportedly in the early 1950s, with Black Creek in play on six holes. A 2026 South Carolina legislative resolution marked the club's 100th anniversary.
