About Eagle Nest Golf Club

Eagle Nest opened in 1971 as a Gene Hamm design, founded by longtime public servant Dick Elliott, who envisioned a welcoming, affordable Myrtle Beach-area course. It is named for a resident bald eagle that nested in a tall tree on the property; Hurricane Hugo destroyed the nest in 1989. The course underwent a complete tee-to-green renovation in 2001 and has since had Miniverde grass installed on its greens.
