Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course

Edgewood Tahoe opened in 1968 on land the Park family had ranched since 1896, on the southeast shore of Lake Tahoe at Stateline, Nevada. George Fazio designed the course to run right down to the water, and it remains the only Tahoe layout with holes directly on the lake's shoreline, backed by the Sierra Nevada. His nephew Tom Fazio later renovated the design. Stretching to roughly 7,500 yards, it has long appeared on Golf Digest's list of America's greatest public courses. Edgewood has a strong championship résumé, hosting the USGA's 1980 U.S. Amateur Public Links and the 1985 U.S. Senior Open. Since the early 1990s it has been home each summer to the American Century Championship, the celebrity event that draws athletes and entertainers and national television coverage to the lakeshore. The course now anchors a full luxury resort, pairing tournament history with one of golf's most striking alpine settings.
