Why we love this place

Ridgefield proves a town course can play like a designer track. The Fazio routing rolls over old orchard hills past ponds and tight tree lines, the greens ask real questions, and the price stays local. A northern Fairfield County gem that rewards anyone who keeps it below the trees.

About Ridgefield Golf Course

Ridgefield Golf Course grew out of a town effort that began in 1966, when Ridgefield officials started assembling parcels off Ridgebury Road. The key piece was orchard land owned by the Dlhy family, part of which came to the town for the project, and the course was first known as the Dlhy Ridgefield Golf Course. The town's golf committee signed George Fazio to design the course under a 1972 contract, with Tom Fazio also credited, and construction pushed through contractor disputes, drainage trouble and a USGA Green Section visit that postponed the opening. The 18-hole municipal layout was completed in 1974, and the town's pro biography dates its first full season to 1975. Laid over rolling hills with ponds and tree-lined fairways in northern Fairfield County, the par-71 course has been improved year after year, and the town marked its 50th anniversary by posting an archive of the founding papers.
