The Palm Aire golf complex in Sarasota traces to earlier area golf (the Palms course by William Mitchell); a hotel and spa were added in 1971, with its two main 18-hole courses — the Champions/Oaks (1971) and the Lakes/Cypress (1972) — designed by the Fazio team (George and Tom Fazio). It is now operated by ClubLink as a 36-hole private member club.
