About Old Overton Club
Old Overton Club opened in 1993 in Vestavia Hills, in the hills just south of Birmingham, Alabama. The course is credited to a design partnership of 1976 U.S. Open champion Jerry Pate and renowned architect Tom Fazio, who aimed to create a layout that would rise above its surrounding residential development into a world-class private club. Routed through wooded, rolling terrain typical of the Birmingham foothills, it opened to quick acclaim, earning recognition from Golf Digest as one of the country's Best New Private Courses in 1994 and consistently ranking among the top courses in Alabama. An invitation-only private club now managed by Troon, Old Overton pairs its championship course with an upscale member community, and remains one of the most exclusive and highly regarded golf addresses in the state.
