Timberline Golf Club in Calera was designed by Jerry Pate and opened in April 2002. The par-71 course plays up to 6,745 yards and takes its name from the tall timber and large hardwoods across the property, through which runs a railroad that once hauled timber. A fifth set of tees was added later. It serves as the home course of the University of Montevallo men's and women's golf teams.
