Why we love this place

We love Evergreen because it was built by a golf lifer, two holes at a time. Tucked into the Rangeley Lakes region, it pairs mountain air with sneaky, multilevel greens and a teaching heart. A real labor-of-love nine that plays bigger and smarter than you expect.

About Evergreen Golf Club

Evergreen Golf Club in Rangeley is the work of George Buck, who designed, built, and owns the nine-hole course. Buck grew up in a golfing family: his father spent fifty years as a golf professional, including some 45 years as head pro at Longshore Country Club in Westport, Connecticut, and his mother was an LPGA professional. After his father died in 1991, Buck returned to Maine and built a driving range, a practice facility, and the George Buck Golf School in the Rangeley Lakes region. He first added two golf holes for lessons and practice, then kept building, and the full nine opened for play in 2002. Buck has said the design came easily after a lifetime around the game and its great courses. The par-35 layout offers five sets of tees and multilevel greens with significant breaks, stretches to 3,324 yards from the back, and finishes with a 525-yard par five.
