Falconhead Golf Club

Falconhead Golf Club opened in 2003 as a daily-fee public course in the Hill Country southwest of Austin, near Lakeway. It was routed by the PGA Tour Design Center, the tour's in-house architecture group, which built the course to tournament standards with the ambition that it might one day host professional events. The layout threads through stands of cedar and live oak, using the property's natural elevation changes to add variety and visual interest across all eighteen holes. Five sets of tees stretch from roughly 5,200 to more than 7,100 yards, and the variable-sized greens were shaped to tour specifications to allow challenging pin placements. The result is an accessible course that gives everyday players a taste of the conditioning and shot demands found on the professional circuit.
