About Forest Park Golf Course

Forest Park's municipal course opened in 1912 as a nine-hole layout and reached 18 holes by 1913, with a third nine added soon after. It hosted the 1929 U.S. Amateur Public Links. A 2001–2004 rebuild by architect Stan Gentry created three nines, named Dogwood, Redbud and Hawthorn, and the course became the Norman K. Probstein Golf Course.
