About Normandie Golf Club

Normandie Golf Club opened in 1901 and is widely cited as one of the oldest public golf courses west of the Mississippi River still on its original site. It was designed by Scottish-born architect Robert Foulis, a disciple of Old Tom Morris of St. Andrews. The public North County course closed in November 2023 for a major renovation led by Nicklaus Design under the Metropolitan Amateur Golf Association, which pledged roughly $8.5 million to rebuild it as a Nicklaus Signature course while keeping it public and adding junior programs for underserved neighborhoods; reopening was targeted for late 2025.
