Fox Run Country Club was chartered in November 1956 as the Fountain Inn-Simpsonville Country Club by three Fountain Inn High School classmates. The course opened with five holes, grew to nine (today's back nine), and in 1959 Ralph Burdette was hired to build the front nine, with pro Earl Tinsley shaping greens and bunkers. Today it is a 6,556-yard par 72.
