About Green Tree Country Club

Green Tree Country Club was conceived by Jerry Mobley, former head golf professional at Ranchland Hills, who partnered with John Wood in 1977 to build a club on sandy former farmland in northwest Midland. The 18-hole championship course, designed by Austin architect Charles Howard, opened in 1980 with Bermuda fairways and bentgrass greens. A third nine was added in 1985, giving the club 27 holes (North, West and East nines). The facility also includes a large clubhouse, tennis courts and a pool.
