Huntington Hills Golf & Country Club in north Lakeland opened in 1992, designed by Lakeland native Ron Garl for a surrounding residential community of roughly 400 acres. The semi-private 18-hole course was nominated among the top 50 new courses in America in the 1990s. A renovation completed in 2016 added TifEagle greens, rebuilt bunkers to USGA standards and new irrigation.
