Mohegan Sun Golf Club

Est. 1960 · Geoffrey Cornish; redesigned by Robert McNeil (2012); renovated with input from Ron Garl (2026)
Why we love this place

Mohegan Sun Golf Club blends a Geoffrey Cornish routing with two rounds of modern polish, the latest in 2026. Bentgrass fairways, a reworked trio of holes, and resort-level service make it one of eastern Connecticut's most complete public experiences, with a casino evening only minutes away.

About Mohegan Sun Golf Club

The course in Baltic opened in 1960 as Pautipaug Country Club, a private club built on a Geoffrey S. Cornish design. Stephen Kay reworked its tees and bunkers in 2002, and in 2007 the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority bought the club, which became Mohegan Sun Country Club at Pautipaug. In 2010 the Mohegans brought in Robert McNeil, who reconfigured six holes, rebuilt the greens, converted the fairways to bentgrass and added bunkers, mounding, ponds, native grasses and irrigation, stretching the course by 125 yards to 6,790 yards from the tips; it reopened in 2012 with an updated clubhouse. Now known as Mohegan Sun Golf Club and open for public tee times, the course closed again for a multi-year renovation with input from architect Ron Garl and reopened on April 15, 2026, with new layouts for holes 3, 6 and 11, fewer bunkers, new drainage and irrigation, and selective tree removal.
