About Indian Canyon Golf Course

Indian Canyon is a City of Spokane municipal course, designed by former U.S. Amateur champion H. Chandler Egan around 1930 and opened in August 1935 as a Depression-era public works project. Cut into a steep canyon on the city's west side, it hosted the PGA Tour's Esmeralda Open in the 1940s with fields that included Byron Nelson, Sam Snead and Ben Hogan, and the U.S. Amateur Public Links in 1941 and 1984. It has always been owned and run by the city.
