Ironwood Golf Course in northeast Gainesville opened in 1964 to a design credited to David Wallace. A public municipal course owned by the City of Gainesville, its 18-hole, par-72 layout winds through century-old pines and lakes; a renovation by Mike Beebe and MacCurrach Golf was completed in 2010.
