William Flynn in the Lehigh Valley is an underrated pleasure, and this 1928 gem has quietly kept its class. We love a club that trusted a master architect and then left his work largely intact. Understated, strategic, and genuinely fun to play.

About Lehigh Country Club
Lehigh Country Club traces its origins to late 1910, when articles of incorporation were filed and a nine-hole course and clubhouse were built on the former Dodson Farm near Allentown, Pennsylvania. As the club grew, it commissioned the noted firm of Toomey and Flynn, and in 1926 approved a contract for William Flynn to design and build a full course. Flynn, then already responsible for acclaimed work such as Cherry Hills in Colorado and the Cascades at The Homestead in Virginia, delivered a layout that opened on Memorial Day 1928. The course remains the centerpiece of the club and is regarded as a strong example of Flynn's Golden Age architecture in the Lehigh Valley. A private members' club, Lehigh Country Club continues to steward its classic design and its long place in eastern Pennsylvania golf.
