About Mcconnellsville Country Club
McConnellsville Golf Club dates to 1941, when the McConnell and Charboneau farms in the Oneida County hamlet of McConnellsville were turned into a nine-hole golf course. The project grew from the vision of Harry, Charles and Clarence Harden and was financed jointly by two local employers, the Frank S. Harden Company, maker of Harden Furniture, and the Camden Wire Company. The old Charboneau farmhouse served as the clubhouse for more than 20 years, until the present clubhouse was built; its cornerstone was laid in September 1964 in memory of Harry A. Harden. In 1967 the Harden family donated another 65 acres for a second nine, designed by Pete Grygiel and Frank Clark and completed late in 1969. Members long funded capital improvements through an annual assessment, and in 2022 a local family bought the club and modernized the clubhouse. Today the par-70 course measures about 6,250 yards and is open to public play.
