Monte Cristo Golf & Country Club in Edinburg was formerly Palacios Real Country Club, and its 18-hole course still carries the "Palacio Real" name in several directories. Most listings date it to 1976; until Los Lagos opened in 2001 it was Edinburg's only 18-hole course. The par-71 layout plays 6,392 yards from the back tees, and the constant Gulf wind is its defining challenge. The club sits within a 55-plus residential community and operates as a semi-private facility open to the public. (No primary source names its architect.)
