About Mount Airy Golf Club

Hal Purdy designed the course, which opened in 1980. Each hole was modeled on a famous hole from a U.S. championship course, based on Sports Illustrated's list of the best 18 golf holes in America, with holes inspired by Pebble Beach, Oakland Hills, Merion and Augusta National reworked for the site. GolfPass lists a 2009 renovation by Dan Schlegel. The par-71 course plays 6,565 yards from the back tees.
