PineCrest was earlier known as the Montgomeryville Golf Course. After the Klein Co., a real-estate developer, bought it and began building homes and condominiums around it, architect Ron Prichard reworked the course, lengthening several holes and adding water and bunkers. The Golf Association of Philadelphia lists the Prichard course as opening in 1990.
