About Mount Pleasant Golf Club
Mount Pleasant Golf Club in Lowell was established in 1910 and incorporated in 1911 by a group of friends and neighbors who sought to promote social interaction, outdoor exercise, tennis, golf and other athletic sports. The original nine holes were built on about 38 acres at the corner of Stedman and Westford Streets, with land leased until purchases began in 1914. It is a private, equity-owned neighborhood club; the current clubhouse footprint dates to 1922, with major renovations in 2003.
