About Pakachoag Golf Course

Pakachoag is a 9-hole, 54-acre municipal course in Auburn, created in 1939 when the Ward family converted the former Asa Ward Farm into a golf course. The Town of Auburn purchased the property in 1981. The site is historically significant beyond golf: Dr. Robert H. Goddard launched the world's first liquid-fueled rocket here on March 16, 1926 — a National Historic Landmark marked by a monument on the ninth fairway.
