About Panther Valley Country Club
Panther Valley sits on land that was once Panther Ledge Farm, part of the Warren County estate of Clendenin James Ryan Jr., a grandson of Gilded Age financier Thomas Fortune Ryan, where black angus cattle were raised across thousands of acres. In 1967 the developers retained Robert Trent Jones Sr. to design an eighteen-hole championship course. Construction began in 1968, the first nine opened in the spring of 1969, and the full layout was in play by that October. Woven through the wooded hills and valleys of Allamuchy Township, the course reflects Jones's trademark blend of length, strategic bunkering and demanding par threes. Now a private club at the heart of a residential community, Panther Valley is often cited as one of the region's quietly excellent RTJ Sr. designs.
