Pickens Golf Club opened in 1953 as Pickens Country Club with nine holes, adding a second nine designed by Willie B. Lewis in 1958. The club was renovated and reconfigured by Jeff Lawrence in 2021 into a hybrid nine-hole, par-71 layout with 18 distinct tee boxes, plus a new two-level clubhouse, between Clemson and Greenville.
