About Quail Valley Golf Course

Quail Valley opened in 1970 as a private club anchoring James "Mac" MacNaughton's master-planned community, with two Jack Miller-designed 18s, El Dorado and La Quinta. A hybrid routing of the two courses hosted the PGA Tour's Houston Open in 1973 and 1974. After a developer sought to close the courses in the early 2000s, Missouri City took over; today it is a 36-hole municipal facility, with El Dorado fully renovated by Jeff Blume in 2009.
