Why we love this place
A century of one family's hospitality, wrapped around a golf course with a genuine island green. We love Island Green for its Catskills farm-country setting, its stay-and-play ease and the personal touch that only comes from the same family running the place for generations.

About Island Green Resort & Golf Club
Island Green Resort & Golf Club, long known as the Rainbow Golf Club, sits on County Route 26 in Greenville, in the rolling farm country of Greene County at the edge of the northern Catskills. The resort dates its founding to 1920 and has been operated by the Birmann family for more than a century, after the family bought a dairy farm and settled in Greenville. Directories date the golf course to 1957, and the family shaped the layout around the natural terrain over many years. The par-71 eighteen measures about 6,250 yards and is known for the island green that now gives the resort its name. Guests can stay on site in vacation apartments, and the club still takes tee times under its former Rainbow name.
