About Reservation Golf Club
Reservation Golf Club is a private 9-hole course in Mattapoisett considered one of New England's oldest golf courses, established in 1895. In 1887 Charles King purchased property at the head of the harbor near the mouth of the Mattapoisett River and built a summer home called "the Reservation" (named for a former Wampanoag camping ground); King, a golfer, laid out the course himself and it survives to this day. The 2,788-yard, par-35 layout offers views of Mattapoisett Harbor, Eel Pond and the river.
