Sand Creek Station

Sand Creek Station opened for public play in 2006 just outside Newton, Kansas, and quickly earned a reputation as one of the best pay-and-play courses in the state. Architect Jeff Brauer routed the links-style layout on both sides of the active Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail line, giving the course a distinctive character; carts pass beneath the tracks through a concrete underpass, Sand Creek borders several holes, and a series of custom ponds shapes the strategy. Brauer also paid homage to golf history with a replica of St. Andrews' famous Road Hole green at the par-five sixteenth. A municipal course owned by the City of Newton and managed by KemperSports, Sand Creek Station hosted the U.S. Amateur Public Links in 2014 and later welcomed a U.S. Adaptive Open, cementing its standing as a top public venue.
