The course opened as Freestone Golf Course, named for the freestone streams that cross the property. Designed by James Polinchok, its front nine and driving range opened on July 1, 2006, and the back nine in May 2009. The front nine follows the Bald Eagle Valley floor beside Bald Eagle Creek, while the back nine climbs the mountainside.
