Southers Marsh is a public 18-hole executive (par 61/62) course that opened in July 2001, built by the Stearns family on the uplands around their century-old working cranberry bogs after the cranberry market collapsed in the late 1990s. Will Stearns first experimented with a five-hole layout in 1995; the full course was routed by Nick Filla and shaped by Dahn Tibbett. The irregular cranberry bogs (planted around 1900) were kept as the course's defining hazards, and the family still harvests cranberries while hosting roughly 20,000 rounds a year.
