St. Ives Gc (Tullymore Golf Resort)

St. Ives Golf Club is the older of the two courses at Tullymore Golf Resort in Stanwood, in central Michigan roughly an hour north of Grand Rapids. Opened in 1995, it was designed by Jerry Matthews, a longtime Michigan architect and past president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects; many regard St. Ives as his finest work. The layout is routed through glacier-shaped terrain of woodlands, wetlands and rolling highlands, with elevation changes of 40 to 80 feet and water in play on nearly two-thirds of the holes. The par-4 fourteenth, which asks for an accurate tee shot followed by a long carry over wetlands to an elevated green, is often cited as the signature hole. St. Ives has drawn national recognition, including a five-star rating from Golf Digest, and together with the newer Tullymore course it anchors a well-regarded resort.
