Est. 1925 · Eddie Ricobonni & George "Chick" Miler (back nine, 1958)
About Summerville Country Club
Summerville Country Club opened in 1925 on the former Pinehurst Tea Plantation (founded 1888 by Dr. Charles Shepard), originally with two 18-hole courses, a 9-hole par-3 and a horse track. The Depression and World War II closed it; Chick Miler bought it and reopened it as nine holes, then he and Eddie Ricobonni built the back nine in 1958. The Blanton family has owned it since 1970, and it hosts the Chick Miler Invitational each Memorial Day weekend. The club is open to the public, with memberships available.
