The Harvester Club

The Harvester sits about 30 minutes northeast of Des Moines near Rhodes, Iowa, and opened in 2000 as an original Keith Foster design, often cited as one of his finest ground-up creations. Foster, known for his restoration work and a philosophy of building timeless, enduring courses, routed the layout across rolling prairie hills with curvaceous fairways and bold, modern bunkering. For years it ranked as Iowa's top public course and a national favorite among traveling golfers. In 2017 the ownership shifted the club private and brought Foster back to renovate: trees were removed to reveal the site's natural hills and prairie, fairways were widened and made less serpentine, and new tees were added, sharpening the strategic character. The clubhouse was remodeled to match. Today it stands as one of the state's most admired designs, blending scale, strategy, and prairie beauty.
