About The Reserve at Moonlight Basin
The Reserve at Moonlight Basin is a private, high-elevation Jack Nicklaus Signature course carved into the mountains above Big Sky, Montana. Nicklaus routed the layout across dramatic alpine terrain, and the club opened its completed 18 holes in 2016 after new ownership revived the project following the recession. Played at roughly 7,500 feet, the course stretches toward 8,000 yards from the tips, with thin mountain air adding carry and sweeping views of Lone Peak framing many holes. Nicklaus Design counts it among the most scenic settings in its portfolio. The routing rewards strategic positioning while letting the surrounding wilderness dominate the experience. Tied to the broader Moonlight Basin resort community, it remains one of the most exclusive and visually striking mountain rounds in the northern Rockies.
