About The Golf Club at Dove Mountain
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain opened in 2009 in Marana, northwest of Tucson, as the Jack Nicklaus-designed course attached to The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain. Carved into the rugged foothills of the Tortolita Mountains, the layout is built around dramatic elevation changes, boulder-strewn desert washes, and generous but well-defended greens. Almost immediately it stepped onto the world stage, taking over as host of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship, one of professional golf's premier events, from 2009 through 2014. Geoff Ogilvy won the inaugural edition on the course, defeating Paul Casey in the final. Over its run the tournament gathered the top-ranked players in the game each winter, and the match-play format across Dove Mountain's demanding desert terrain produced memorable swings of fortune. Today it remains a marquee resort golf destination in southern Arizona.
