True North Golf Club sits in the forest above Harbor Springs, roughly five miles from the shore of Little Traverse Bay in northern Michigan. Opened in 2004, it was designed by award-winning architect Jim Engh, known nationally for his bold, muscular routings and dramatic use of natural terrain. At True North he worked with undulating land, deep valleys, and elevation changes, threading fairways lined with hardwoods and pines and dotting the property with more than half a dozen ponds. Four sets of tees stretch play from about 4,800 yards to over 7,000, making it flexible across skill levels. Consistently praised for its pristine conditioning and its challenging-but-fair character, True North is widely regarded among the finest and most acclaimed courses in the region.
