Washington County Golf Course opened in 1997 in Hartford, Wisconsin, a county-owned municipal layout designed by acclaimed architect Arthur Hills, ASGCA. Set in the rolling Kettle Moraine region, it plays in a links-influenced style over glacially shaped terrain with strategic bunkering, generous movement, and bentgrass greens. From the black tees it stretches to roughly 7,048 yards at a par of 72, with a course rating near 73.6 and a slope of 134, giving it genuine championship teeth while remaining a public, everyday-accessible facility. That combination of quality and value earned wide notice: Golf Digest has ranked it among the very top municipal courses in the nation, and it has drawn strong regional recognition among Wisconsin public courses. The course has also served as a competitive venue, hosting U.S. Open local qualifying and the Wisconsin PGA Championship.
