Black Gold Golf Club opened in November 2001 in Yorba Linda, on about 219 acres of rolling hills that were once an oil field owned by Shell Oil, which is where its name comes from. Arthur Hills designed it to use the site's elevation changes and views over Orange County. The City of Yorba Linda owns the course and KemperSports manages it, and a waterfall sits beside the 18th green.
