About Indian Wells Country Club

Indian Wells Country Club was founded in 1956 by a group that included Desi Arnaz, and its Classic Course was designed by Eddie Susalla. The club hosted the Bob Hope Desert Classic from 1960 to 2008, a run that included Don January's $50,000 hole-in-one at the 15th in 1961 and an Arnold Palmer ace in 1980. Shirley Spork, who helped found the LPGA Teaching Division, taught at the club in the 1970s.
