Why we love this place
A club built by golfers who simply wanted a place for their families to play, and it still feels that way. We love Wayne Hills for its 1950s community roots, its nearly 6,900 yards of real challenge and the warm small-town welcome that comes with every round in Lyons.

About Wayne Hills Country Club
Wayne Hills Country Club grew out of an idea hatched in 1953, when four Lyons golfers persuaded eight others that the area needed a family recreation center. The group incorporated as the Wayne Recreation Association in March 1956, and the first nine holes, credited to Brent Wadsworth, opened in 1959 on Gannett Road above the village of Lyons in Wayne County. The organization became Wayne Hills Country Club, Inc. in 1963, and a second nine followed in 1964 along with a complete watering system for both nines. In 2000 the original irrigation was replaced with a modern computerized system. The par-72 course stretches to about 6,900 yards from the back tees, with bentgrass greens, a driving range and a clubhouse restaurant.
