About Wedgefield Plantation

Wedgefield Plantation in Georgetown opened in the early 1970s (1972 per most sources) on the site of an 18th-century rice plantation, one of the oldest layouts in the Myrtle Beach area and the southernmost on the Grand Strand. Architect J. Porter Gibson routed it around centuries-old live oaks and used the historic manor house as the clubhouse. It is a par-72 course of about 7,072 yards from the back tees.
