About Woodlawn Golf Course
Woodlawn Country Club in Sherman, Grayson County, Texas, was chartered in 1914, with the first nine holes completed in 1916. Founders sought the advice of A.S. Baxter, designer of Dallas Country Club, who selected the site on land between Sherman and Denison. In 1967 Read Omohundro and PGA Tour pro Miller Barber purchased the club and expanded it to 18 holes, and the Omohundro family has continued to operate it. The semi-private course plays to par 71 at roughly 6,405 yards.
