About Blacklick Woods Golf Course
Blacklick Woods Golf Course grew out of the former 18-hole Stoney Creek Country Club, which Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks bought in 1967 to keep it from being turned into housing. The Blacklick Woods Golf Courses officially opened in 1973 with a redesigned Championship Course of nearly 7,000 yards, reusing 13 holes from the original, plus a par-59 Executive Course, all overseen by Columbus architect Jack Kidwell. The Ohio Parks and Recreation Association gave the complex its Outstanding Facility Award in 1974.
