About Boulder Oaks Golf Club

Boulder Oaks Golf Club in Escondido began play in 1965 as Meadow Lake Golf Course. The privately owned course closed in July 2015 for a $6.2 million renovation funded through the Metropolitan Water District's turf removal program. Architect Dave Fleming redesigned it, replacing three holes and cutting 70 of its 140 acres of turf. It reopened in 2016 as Boulder Oaks, shortened from par 72 to par 70 and pitched as a course for beginners and older players.
