Bucknell University's Board of Trustees approved buying land for a golf course in 1929. Emil Loeffler designed the original nine holes, and the course opened in 1930. In spring 1964 neighboring farmland was added and Ed Ault expanded the course to 18 holes. It is home to Bucknell's men's and women's golf teams and has hosted US Open qualifiers.
