About Champions Golf Course

Champions Golf Course first opened in 1923 as a nine-hole layout designed by Herbert Strong, then known as Winding Hollow Country Club. In 1954, Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the current 18-hole course. Once a private country club, it is now a City of Columbus municipal facility operated by the Recreation and Parks Department and is regarded as one of central Ohio's more challenging public courses.
