About Ponte Vedra Golf Course

This is the Ocean Course at the historic Ponte Vedra Inn & Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, designed by Herbert Strong and opened in 1928, built with mule teams. Its par-3 9th is widely credited as one of the first island greens in golf — predating and reportedly inspiring the famous 17th at nearby TPC Sawgrass. Robert Trent Jones Sr. redesigned it in 1947 and Bobby Weed renovated it in 1998.
